Washington, D.C. – Stewart Ackerly, Director and Head of Originations at Statera Capital, recently spoke at the leading contingent risk insurance conference in Washington, DC on October 27, 2023. The conference, hosted by CAC Specialty, brought together industry leaders from the legal, funding, and insurance industries to discuss topics ranging from judgment preservation insurance to insuring portfolios of legal assets.
Stewart spoke on a panel entitled “The Next Generation: Portfolio Risks.” He joined moderator Shai Silverman of CAC Specailty and co-panelists Nicole Barna of Arcadian Risk Capital and Boris Ziser of Schulte Roth & Zabel. They discussed how funders and insurers approach insuring a portfolio of legal assets and why a funder may utilize insurance on a portfolio basis. Stewart discussed Statera’s unique focus on meritorious commercial disputes that require approximately $500,000 to $4 million in financing and how insurance may be relevant to Statera’s diversified portfolio of financed cases.
