Statera Capital’s Stewart Ackerly co-hosted a panel on the strategic use of legal funding at the Legal Value Network’s fourth annual LVNx Conference, held September 24–26, 2025, in Chicago. LVNx is a leading conference dedicated to driving transformation in the business of law, bringing together professionals from law firms, corporate legal departments, and legal service providers.
Stewart co-hosted the panel alongside Brendan Dyer of Law Finance Group. They were joined by Purvi Sanghvi, Chief Revenue Officer at King & Spalding, and Adam Barvels, ALPP, ALPM, Director of Pricing and Legal Project Management at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati. The discussion focused on how law firms can leverage litigation finance as a strategic tool to drive value, win work, and align incentives with clients. Topics included early case assessment, budget development, funder engagement, and term sheet evaluation — practical dimensions of how law firm partners and operational leaders can incorporate litigation funding into their business models and day-to-day decision-making.
The panel reflected a broader trend that Statera continues to observe: law firms of all sizes, including BigLaw, are increasingly engaging with litigation finance as a tool to promote client service and advance firm strategy. Helping law firm leaders — from partners focused on client relationships to pricing and legal project management professionals evaluating case economics — understand how litigation finance works and where it can add value is central to the industry’s continued growth.
