Statera Capital adds Senior Litigator from Williams & Connolly

CHICAGO — Statera Capital, a leading litigation funding source for the U.S. commercial middle market, today announced that Matthew Blumenstein has joined the company as Director and Head of Underwriting. Matt will have broad responsibility across Statera’s business, specifically leading Statera’s investment underwriting and confirmatory diligence process. Matt will be based out of Statera’s Chicago headquarters.

Matt joins Statera from Williams & Connolly LLP, one of the world’s premier litigation law firms, where he was a senior litigator. Matt is an accomplished attorney who has represented clients in varied commercial litigation matters across a wide range of industries, legal regimes, and jurisdictions. Prior to joining Williams & Connolly, Matt clerked for Judge Karen LeCraft Henderson on the United States Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit. Matt graduated from Stanford University and received his law degree from Vanderbilt University Law School. At Vanderbilt, Matt graduated in the Order of the Coif, served on the Law Review, and received several scholastic awards, including the Cecil D. Branstetter Award for extraordinary achievement in the study of litigation and dispute resolution.
